「石薬師寺」三重県鈴鹿市
現在の三重県鈴鹿市にあたるのが石薬師の宿場。遠景の大きな山々の麓に描かれているのが石薬師寺です。手前では稲刈りが終わった田んぼが広がっています。医師薬師寺のご本尊には薬師如来が祀られています。

“Ishiyakushiji Temple”
Ishiyakushi's post station is located in what is now Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture. Ishiyakushi-ji Temple is depicted at the foot of large mountains in the distance. In the foreground is a rice field that has just been harvested. Yakushi Nyorai is enshrined in the principal image of Physician Yakushiji Temple.

「白雨」三重県鈴鹿市
庄野は三重県鈴鹿市に位置する宿場です。
この作品では庄野の土地柄を見せることなく、激しい雨の中を行く旅人一行を劇的に描いています。強い雨の中景色が白み、なびく木々からも雨風の強さが伺えます。

"White rain"
Shono is a post station located in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture.
This work dramatically depicts a group of travelers traveling through heavy rain without showing the local characteristics of Shono. The scenery is white in the heavy rain, and the strength of the rain and wind can be seen from the waving trees.

「雪晴」三重県亀山市
現在の三重県亀山市に位置する宿場です。
晴れ上がった雪景色を描いています。急勾配の上にそびえ立つのは亀山城。木々の間から、城門に向かい急勾配を上がっていく一行も垣間見えます。

"Sunny snow"
This is a post station located in present-day Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture.
It depicts a sunny snowy landscape. Kameyama Castle towers over a steep slope. Through the trees, you can catch a glimpse of the group heading up the steep slope towards the castle gate.

「本陣早立」三重県亀山市
三重県鈴鹿の関所は、参勤交代の大名が宿泊する本陣が設けられました。大名の本陣には家紋が入った陣幕が張られ、家紋入りの提灯を持った家臣や足軽が警備にあたります。この絵の中に一つだけ別の家紋がありますが、それには安藤広重の頭文字が入っています。

“Honjin early morning” Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture
At the checkpoint in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture, a honjin was set up where the Daimyo of Sankin-Kotai would stay overnight. A curtain with the family crest is erected at the main shrine of the daimyo, and vassals and ashigaru carrying lanterns with the family crest stand guard. There is only one other family crest in this picture, and it contains the initials of Hiroshige Ando.
