菊池酒造株式会社は、明治11年（1878年）、岡山県倉敷市玉島阿賀崎にて創業された老舗の酒蔵です。備中・玉島の豊かな水系と穏やかな瀬戸内気候という恵まれた風土のもと、酒造好適米「雄町」「山田錦」「朝日」などを用いた“幅のあるなめらかな旨さとキレのある酒”を追求しています。代表銘柄「燦然」は“数多ある日本酒の中で一段と輝く酒であれ”との想いを込めて命名され、全国新酒鑑評会をはじめ数多くの品評会で高評価を得ています。

Kikuchi Shuzo Co., Ltd., established in 1878 in Tamashima-Agasaki, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, is a venerable sake brewery rooted in the rich water system of the Bitchū region and the mild Seto Inland Sea climate. With premium sake rice varieties such as Omachi, Yamada-nishiki, and Asahi, the brewery strives for sake characterized by “broad, smooth richness and a clean sharp finish.” Its flagship label, “Sanzen,” was named with the aspiration that it might “shine one level above the many sakes.” Sanzen has received high acclaim in national sake competitions including the New Sake Appraisal.
