Okinoerabu Distillery, located on Okinoerabu Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, specializes in authentic kokuto (brown sugar) shochu.
Blessed with pristine underground water and a subtropical climate, the distillery preserves the traditional kame-jikomi (earthen pot fermentation) and atmospheric distillation methods.
Its signature brands, “Erabu” and “Hanatori,” are known for their gentle sweetness derived from island-grown sugarcane and a crisp, clean finish—capturing the rich flavor of the island’s natural bounty.
