目川ノ里の茶屋「いせや」が描かれています。菜飯や田楽豆腐が名物とされるこの茶屋は、江戸でも知られていました。石部宿は京から旅立った人々が最初に宿泊する宿場です。遠くには琵琶湖西岸の比良山が見えます。

“Mekawa no Sato”
The teahouse "Iseya" in Mekawa no Sato is depicted. This tea house, famous for its nabe rice and dengaku tofu, was also known in Edo. Ishibe-juku is the first post station for people departing from Kyoto. In the distance, you can see Mt. Hira on the west coast of Lake Biwa.
